The foundation for this website, for upcoming young artists, musicians, writers and film makers, was the logo, featuring 4 characters whose art form had literally gone to their heads. Every core colour on the site linked to one of the four used in the main identity - red for music, orange for art and so on - but otherwise we maintained a clean, graphical look by keeping to a minimal palette. The result is an easy-to navigate website which is simple to follow a particular art form.
Having already created the brand style, we were further briefed to produce this 100 page anti-bullying website. The information has to be accessed by some potentially worried, frightened people, but we made the decision to be as welcoming as possible by using a bright, friendly, creative interface and very clear navigation. The Brand style from our initial work transfer well into the online environment to provide cohesion between web-based and offline media.
Gowithme.co.uk / Get-Together Website
Brief: Brand and Website Design
Gowithme is a website for people who
like to pursue their interests but, for one reason or another, can't find anyone to
share them with. You like snowboarding,
your significant other would rather eat
worms. Opera is your thing but your Wagnerian chums are scattered all over the country. Post a message at gowithme and like-minded individuals will find you with an offer to become your temporary companion for music, drama, theatre, sport, travel, hobbies and more. The inspiration for the logo and its matching website: from that chair, we'll take you anywhere...
Macallam / Executive Recruitment
www.macallam.com
Our brief was to produce something bold and original to outshine the other companies in this crowded sector. Using colours, typography and photography we created a site with a unique look and navigational style, one which was in stark contrast to the bland, canned look of the competition's standard template sites. The personality we devised quickly fed back into the day to day company culture.
We developed the new website to reflect Macallam's values and worked up the photography and phraseology into huge canvas artworks which now hang in the company's offices. Separating Macallam from the 'glossy' image of their executive recruitment competitors has helped to build a brand personality which their staff can buy into and be proud of.
In contrast to the intricate nature of the business, the website needed to be clear and simple to use - but still retain an element of sophistication. Looking to nature for inspiration, we settled on the butterfly, flitting from place to place and taking something beneficial wherever it landed, as a fitting symbol. Having established the identity, the website grew with the same core colours and clean, white background, with contrasting sections of the site having bold monochrome images. This is a finely balanced mix of soft and friendly imagery with an undeniably corporate feel.
There are many forms of communication vying for the attention of the nicotine addict, but what sets our clients website apart are the graphical illustrations which depict and empathise with the feelings and frustrations of the would-be non-smoker. A strict colour scheme and no-typography text ensure that nothing obscures the message of this very successful site.
Sometimes literal is preferable, so the logo reflects the would-be buyer sitting to view the work as you would in an exhibition. The artwork itself, of course, must be the hero, and the site design recognises this, adding in suitable html coding to make navigation quick clear and simple.
